Happy birthday BYFOD!
It has been ten years already since BYFOD was founded by Gino Hol. Aside from a good moment to celebrate, it is also a good moment to look back on the past years. A word from our president:
“It is with great pride that I can announce that BYFOD recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary. With this, I would like to take the opportunity to share with you all a brief history of my working life in the flower industry.
In 1982 I founded Holex Flower. A company that specialized in sending flowers to far-off destinations. The United States of America became our main destination. This specialization turned out to work well and we saw our sales and market share increase to the United States of America every year. This growth was a big part of the reason that I was approached for a takeover. I sold the company thinking it was time for me to step out of the flower business.
After a few years break however, I was asked to take an advisory role at a flower import company. Later this role led to the directorship of the company. Having this function made it important to visit the most important flower fairs in the Netherlands. When I visited these fairs, I met a lot of contacts from the past and often there was a discussion about whether I could possibly export flowers again to the USA. Long story short: I decided to do so.
Years after the sale of my old company, it became clear to me that I had only done this because I was approached for it. Not because I wanted it myself. I figured it was time to go back to the work I loved doing all my life. It was in the spring of 2009 that BYFOD opened its doors to customers all over the world. I am very pleased that I can say this was one of the best decisions in my life.”

At BYFOD we want to stay at the forefront of innovative processing, packaging and transport solutions. We have specialized in products that we ourselves find beautiful, such as peonies, orchids, bulb flowers and summer flowers. If you focus on the things that lie close to your heart, standing out comes naturally.”
